Freckles Viola

This darling, dainty violet is a blue-freckled version of the familiar wild violet of North America. A perennial native wildflower just 6-8 inches tall, these plants will self-sow in the garden or lawn.

Planting Instructions:

Perennial in zones 4-9. Start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before last frost. Grow in full sun to partial shade. Best in cool conditions. Likes a cool, moist, woodsy soil. Occasionally self-sows.

Shastas are unrivaled for production of 2’-3’ talk strong-stemmed flowers during summer and early fall. The daisy-like flowers have snow-white petals surrounding a rich yellow center. Enjoy shasta daisies in the garden and as cut flowers. Plants are easy-to-grow and nearly maintenance free.

Planting Instructions:

For strong plants either start seeds indoors 8 to 10 weeks before last frost, or sow outdoors in late summer/fall and provide protection where necessary. Plant in well-drained soil. Fertilize when spring growth begins. Harvest flowers to prolong bloom period.
